Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

Your Kenyan adventure begins in Nairobi, where your safari guide welcomes you and introduces you to the journey ahead. Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, travelling through the beautiful landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, with opportunities to stop at scenic viewpoints along the way.

Upon arrival, enjoy a wildlife drive through a park renowned for its rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and remarkable birdlife. Lake Nakuru's changing landscapes provide wonderful opportunities for wildlife observation and photography, from open grasslands to wooded habitats along the lake.

As afternoon light settles over the park, continue your exploration before heading to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Lodge or a confirmed equivalent mid-range lodge.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru to the Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart for the world-famous Maasai Mara, travelling through Kenya's scenic countryside towards one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife destinations.

Arrive at your lodge around lunchtime, subject to road conditions, and take some time to settle in before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

Explore the sweeping savannah in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras and other wildlife. For photographers, the Mara's open landscapes and changing light can create beautiful opportunities for capturing animals against dramatic African scenery.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Accommodation: Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 3: Full-Day Wildlife & Photography Safari in the Maasai Mara

Prepare for an unforgettable day in the African wilderness. After an early breakfast, set out across the Maasai Mara with your professional guide, exploring its vast grasslands and wildlife-rich habitats.

Keep your camera ready for lions emerging from the morning shadows, elephants moving across the plains, cheetahs scanning the horizon and giraffes framed against the African sky. With patience and good fortune, you may also encounter leopards, hyenas, colourful birdlife and fascinating animal behaviour.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing your wildlife exploration throughout the afternoon. Your guide will take your photographic interests into account when planning the day's game drives, while respecting park regulations and the animals' natural behaviour.

Optional cultural experience: Visit a local Maasai community to discover traditional homesteads, beadwork, music, dance and local heritage. The visit can be arranged according to availability and the day's schedule.

During the Great Migration season, typically July to October, your guide can look for wildebeest herds and possible river-crossing activity. Wildlife movements vary, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Return to Mara Simba Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Accommodation: Mara Simba Lodge

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Nairobi – Optional City Sightseeing

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Nairobi, enjoying the changing landscapes as you leave the Mara behind.

If your arrival time and onward flight schedule allow, enhance your final day with an optional Nairobi city sightseeing experience. Explore selected city landmarks, observe the energy of Kenya's capital and discover opportunities to photograph its urban character, cultural details and everyday life.

Depending on available time and your interests, possible stops may include the Kenyatta International Convention Centre or a local craft market. The final route and stops will depend on traffic, opening hours and your departure arrangements.

Later, transfer to your Nairobi hotel or the airport for your onward journey.

Optional extra: Private Nairobi city tour, subject to timing
